Mortimer Country Food Fair was set up to promote local food businesses and crafts people. In each category we try not to have too much overlapping of product ranges - as this way we believe that each exhibitor has a good chance of selling out during the fair - and priority is given to those who are located in or close to the Mortimer Country area.
The fair is intended primarily as a vehicle for food makers and producers, and places for those selling crafts are limited. We are intending mainly to promote makers, and those selling the products of others can only exhibit at the fair if they fulfil certain criteria. In particular if they are importing crafts from abroad, we must be convinced that their activities comply as far as possible to fair trade standards, and that any materials used in the crafts have been harvested sustainably.
We are always particularly interested in attracting crafts people who can demonstrate their craft while at the fair, and this has proven in the past to be a very effective sales tool for them also.
